All 3 towns in the ACRVR sit along the shores of the 2017 Pennsylvania River of the Year: The Allegheny River. There are many events scheduled to celebrate this designation, including the Emlenton Summer Festival‘s Anything That Floats Race.

Historically, this region has been paramount to the development of the gas and oil industry and much of that history remains here to be seen. Prior the oil boom, Native Americans also utilized the natural oil deposits and introduced them to settlers. Much of their history is here to be seen as well!
Today, the region is central to the area’s rails-to-trails and many come to enjoy time on the Allegheny River.
Come spend time learning about the rich history, biking, kayaking, canoeing, or fishing in this scenic area, as well as, enjoy some of the cuisine at local restaurants populating the river!
